Photo of the Day: Alfalfa

I took this picture at the San Francisco Ferry Building Farmer's Market. I think alfalfa is most often used as cattle feed, but I really like it in salad and sandwiches. I guess it comes from growing up and living in California - in a lot of sandwich shops, California-style means with alfalfa and Ranch dressing. A lot of people feel that salad is a tasteless health food and a lot of people that eat salad think that alfalfa is the tasteless health food of salads. I like the texture and the flavor, so I'll keep eating alfalfa.
