What I Ate: January 20, 2009 (Won Ton House)
Posted 21 January, 2009 at 1:48am by Michael Chu(Filed under: Food, What I Ate)
Busy day today. Watched President Obama's inauguration (twice), racked a new server and four hundred pounds of UPS (uninteruptable power supplies) hardware into our data center, and found out my father's in the hospital for gall stones (please pray for him!). That's a little too much excitement for one day. I grabbed a quick lunch from the "corner market" between packing the UPS's into the car and bringing them over to the data center.
I put together a quick salad:
And also grabbed a cold tuna fish sandwich (on Dutch Crunch). I ate half the sandwich and gave the other half to Dave Lu.
By the time I got home, it was fairly late and Tina and I were starving. Tina wanted to go to Won Ton House (1205 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA - (408) 984-8668) for their green beans dish.
We also both ordered their signature clay pot rice meals (which comes with a side of vegetables and a small bowl of soup). I had the smoked duck, Chinese sausage, and pork clay pot rice.

We watched the inaugaration too - with the kids (9 and 12) and it was very moving. President Obama has great press here in europe and there are a lot of hopes and anticapation.
I guess that was the second monumental historical event for me.
First one was the reunification of the two germanys - something I thought would not happen in my lifetime.
My hopes are on better communication and more respect between the nations….and lots of buyers for our advanced german eco-technoligy (just kidding ~l~ )greets…
