For lunch, Tina and I ate leftovers. I pan fried a few cakes that I made from left over mashed potatoes.

I also ate two fish tacos that Tina had ordered at Acapulco the other day and didn't eat.

For dinner, Dave and Rachel met up with us and we headed over to Maruichi Ramen in Mountain View. Unfortunately, the line was too long so we started walking up Castro St. and walked into Colonel Lee's Mongolian BBQ (304 Castro St, Mountain View, CA‎ - (650) 968-0381‎). I was surprised that the whole place looked very different from the last time I was there. It turns out they changed owners and the new owner replaced the flooring and decor. The wasn't quite as good as I remember from the last time (a couple years ago) that I was there. I think the sauces aren't strong enough and I highly recommend a few extra scoops of soy sauce or house special sauce when preparing your Mongolian BBQ.

  • I love potatoe - cakes! They are one of the staple foods in our family. Have you tried them with herbs, spinach or bacon? Sauerkraut mixed with the potatoes is nice too.
We always have a huge bowl of salad when we have potatoe cakes.

  • I didn't add anything to these cakes - it was roasted garlic mashed potatoes with a little bit of chives in it. I'll have to try mixing in some more stuff (especially the bacon - that sounds really good).
