What I Ate: June 11, 2010 (Costco, Joe's Crab Shack)

Lunch: I ate a Costco Polish Sausage.

Dinner: In what is becoming a tradition, Tina and I went to Joe's Crab Shack after seeing a musical performance (this time it was Pink Martini performing with the Austin Symphony). I had the Crawfish Half & Half (Our famous crawfish etouffee and crispy crawfish tails.) with dirty rice instead of white rice. I thought it was tasty, but not anything special. Tina thought it reminded her of Gulf shrimp and didn't want anything to do with the dish.

  • Pink Martini is Fantastic! I saw them in Sacramento a few years ago.

Also, you've really got me craving a hotdog/spicy sausage right now.

  • We had never heard Pink Martini until Friday night's performance, but afterward, we were really huge fans. The performance was outstanding and the music was the sort where toes automatically start tapping (which is as much dancing as I do) and smiles are impossible to wipe from the faces. We'll definitely see them again if the opportunity presents itself.

The most interesting part about it was that it was at the Palmer Events Center (like a convention center) so the seating was done at these temporary round tables in folding chairs (well-cushioned, but not theater chairs). We've never been to a performance at this venue before so didn't know about it, but people were bringing their own food and wine in picnic baskets or coolers. We're going to have to do that next time!
