What I Ate: February 25, 2010
Posted 25 February, 2010 at 11:28pm by Michael Chu
Lunch: I made a sandwich of roast beef and Cajun style oven roasted turkey breast with avocado. My sandwiches are uglier than when Tina makes them.
Dinner: Tina brought home a Honey Mesquite Roast Chicken which we ate part of with some toasted French bread.

Lunch: I made a roast beef with avocado and baby Swiss cheese sandwich on sourdough bread.
Dinner: Tina cooked Napa cabbage, bean vermicelli, and heated some teriyaki meatballs over rice. We had purchased the meatballs from Costco because we saw them yesterday and wanted to try them. They were a tad too sweet (when we expected when we bought them) and had a very soft and spongy texture (which we didn't expect).

Lunch: I cooked some breakfast foods for lunch: a couple of eggs over easy, tater tots, and applewood smoked bacon.
Dinner: Our microwave oven stopped working, so we went to Costco to get a new one. After, we went across the parking lot to Chuy's (4301 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX - (512) 899-2489) where I ordered the Steak Burrito (A flour tortilla stuffed with sliced grilled steak & cheese topped with Hatch Green Chile sauce. Served with green chile rice & charro beans; I had the sauce on the side) for dinner. I decided to eat half and save the rest for later (filling up on chips and chile con queso and salsa).

Dinner: I grilled a whole Mediterranean sea bass (or branzino) as well as zucchini, red bell peppers, and mushrooms.

Dinner: We stopped in at the Texadelphia on Brodie Lane to try their Tex-Mex influenced Philly Cheesesteaks. We split two different sandwiches.
The Texican Beef with grilled onions, mozzarella and lots of sliced jalapenos. Comes with a side of Queso to pour on top.

What I Ate: February 20, 2010 (Annie's Cafe & Bar, CK Thai Cuisine)
Posted 20 February, 2010 at 10:33pm by Michael Chu
Lunch: We ate at Annie's Cafe & Bar (319 Congress Avenue, Austin, TX - (512) 472-1884). We ordered their Antipasti Salad which was passable.
The Chili Prawns in Peppery Butter Sauce were decent. The heads had more of an iodine/bromine taste (which we don't like) but the ends of the tails didn't have the off putting taste. The sauce was slightly spicy and very flavorful.

What I Ate: February 19, 2010 (U.S. Wellness Meats New York Strip Steak)
Posted 19 February, 2010 at 8:40pm by Michael Chu
Lunch: Tina made me a roast beef, turkey, and ham sandwich.
Dinner: I grilled a New York Strip steak from U.S. Wellness Meats (an online vendor of grassfed beef) with red potatoes, and red and green bell peppers while Tina steamed the remaining two clusters of snow crabs.

Lunch: We made sandwiches for lunch. I made a roast beef on pumpernickel/rye bread with swiss cheese, red onions, and lettuce.
Dinner: We went over to a have hot pot with our friends Jennie and John in belated celebration of Chinese New Years (our third and last Chinese New Year dinner this year). There were three electric hot pots going (ours kept tripping the circuit breaker in the power strip) feeding about 15 people. It was a lot of fun.

What I Ate: February 16, 2010

Lunch: Tina tried making ramen again using a rich pork stock, Nong Shim Instant Ramyun Noodles, nori, bamboo shoots, pork, and a hard boiled egg. The pork soup was great by itself, but didn't work well with the noodles (tasted a little bland). We'll have to keep working at it.
Dinner: Tina and I split some leftovers (pork ribs, ribeye steak, creamed spinach, and sweet potato).
